Here you will find a demo on how to create animations and digital drawing from the Born to Draw iBooks. Jaren, age 10, artwork is highlighted in the traditional medium of soft chalk pastels. Once the images are drawn to create vector drawings of each body shapes needed to animate, I demonstrate how they are brought into the Adobe Flash Program, entered on the timeline, then exported as a movie, .swf or animated .gif.
This screencast picks up on storyboards where we left off on animation demo. It is also a request for teachers and parents to keep in mind this project for a class to work on for a final project and/or grade. Please contact me as to how we can work together on this project.

Using these drawing techniques helps develop critical thinking and visual problem solving skills. By giving a child these lesson and learning to draw gives a child life long skills that can be utilized in digital drawing, animations and applied to all of the traditional visual arts. Children love to draw these pictures because it is learning a way of seeing that gives them pleasing results that builds confidence and dexterity skills.
